Note: Only 40 percent of the highest phone-call traffic (more than 58 500 phone-call minutes, respective the 3rd quintile of the rank-ordered distribution in 2010) are depicted. The thickness of arrows is proportional to the phone traffic from the country where the arrow starts to the country where the arrow ends. The size of country nodes represents the involvement of the country into the general intra-European phone traffic: It is a total of all the incoming and outgoing phone traffic in that country. The color of country nodes depicts the net balance of incoming and outgoing phone traffic in the country. The size of arrows and nodes is directly comparable across the years.
