Note: Only 40 percent of the highest international student movements (more than 41 students, respective the 3rd quintile of the rank-ordered distribution in 2010) are depicted. The thickness of arrows is proportional to the number of students who went from the country where the arrow starts to the country where the arrow ends. The size of country nodes represents the involvement of the country into the general intra-European student movement: It is a total of incoming and outgoing students in that country. The color of the country node depicts the balance of all the incoming and outgoing international students in the country. The size of arrows and nodes is directly comparable across the years.
